Screwball Y2k Instrumentals

Photobucket Because I haven't found too many new releases that I've been excited about lately, I started looking through my older stacks of wax to cure my boredom and found Screwball's Y2k instrumentals. I forgot about this record! It's funny though, looking through everything and listening to some of the records I purchased over the years that well, I actually only bought for the production anyway. I mean let's face it-I love Hip Hop, but you have to admit there are a ton of Hip Hop records out there that are unplayable today-especially with the weak metaphors, wordplay, foul subject matter, yelling,-and oh! diggety diggety bum stiggetty lyrics Haha-Ouch!...So thank god for instrumental records!

Screwball-Now here's an artist that vocally did not stand the test of time. But the beats were nice. Production on his Tommy Boy release was surprisingly handled by a few heavyweight producers like Pete Rock, DJ Premier, The Beatnuts, & Marley Marl. But you also had some lesser known producers providing the worthy beats like, Mike Heron, VIC, Godfather Don, Max Vargas, & Eddie Sancho. This particular record was released on Hydra Beats, year (?).
