A few years ago-about 1997 or so I was told by a fellow DJ friend that this record might actually exist but was only made for DEL and his crew(show vinyl). And well the record never actually surfaced, nor has the record actually been seen by him or anyone else that I"ve talked to so I shrugged it off as just a rumor. The record remained an unconfirmed rumor/legend until today. Today by pure luck I came across two Elektra Test Pressings amongst garbage promos priced at $1.99 each. I looked the records over but didn't see any real info indicating what these Elektra test pressings actually were other than a date of 12-17-93 which gave me an idea of an era. I thought that it could be something but didn't imagine that it was anything like, "No Need For Alarm" Instrumentals. I took the records out and looked at the run out grooves on each record. I couldn't tell what the test pressing was from the first record but on the second record-side D, I noticed there was, "Del Instrumentals" etched in the vinyl. Bingo! Best $4 dollars I've ever spent!
Update: Spoke to Domino via Myspace a while back and he tells me this record was Show Vinyl and Elektra probably only pressed less than 100 of these. Also Elektra made a mistake on the track listing which is different from the order of the vocal album and left the instrumental for "Wack MCs" off the record.
Production by: DEL, Casual, Domino, A-Plus, Stimulated Dummies, Jay Biz, & Snupe.

I don't really rock MP3's or CDs but I'll trade you these instrumental MP3s maybe for some info on other instrumental promos. Official one's not bootlegs. I only want info on official promos. Can you hook me up? And if you can get get me hook up with someone who has some official instrumental vinyl for sale or trade that would be even better. What you got?
As far as info goes there is not much info out there concerning Instrumental LP's as most were Test Press or Promo Only. My best source has been Ebay. Not so much for info but to see what actual official Instrumental LP's are out there.

Check out the Rapidshare link I posted. It's a medley of most of the instrumentals on the DEL album. At the bottom of the page.
I have a lot of promo only instrumental albums. And I know there are a lot more that I don't know about-the official ones. And there are still a lot I don't have that I need. Like both Pete Rock instrumental LP'S. Damn it!
Planet thanks for the snippets shit is dope. Would you be able to Rip the whole LP in full and upload it? I would appreciate it and know a lot of other will too. Thanks
Those links are crazy. I never knew about the Digable Planets joint or the Tribe Called Quest record. Damn I need to put in work. I got a copy of t5hat Bahamadia promo LP Mint. It's dope. A lot of people I talked to didn;t even know that Bahamadia record existed either. I'll see what I can do about the DEL.
Why are you teasing us, bro? You're like one of two people on the planet that has these instrumentals.
Yo Planet hows it coming with Those Del Instrumentals? Are You Goin to Rip the Full LP, I'm Fiending for it.
Please & Thank You!
Haha yeah man I'll rip it an just send it directly to you. I'm not really trying to be behind the mass free internet MP3 trading community. It's never been steez to do that but I'll send it to you. Peace.
Hey,
I was wondering if you could hook me up with just the instrumentals to "Miles to Go" and "Check it Out". Two of my favorite beats of all time. If you could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Yo Planet, about those No Need For Alarm instrumentals ;)
I noticed you hooked andyman187 up with the whole rip. If it's not too big of a deal, i'd REALLY appreciate it if you'd send me that rip too! My e-mail is jrsvandijk@hotmail.com.
Thanks ALOT in advance!
If I give you one, I'd have to give eeeeeeverybody else one too. You can ask Andyman187 to hook you up when I give him the file if you want. Once I give him the file I'm done with it. I'm not trying to spread the Del instrumentals all over the Internet so DJ Timmys can hook up their Serato sytems. That was never my intention. My intentions were always to spread knowledge about certain records, Hip Hop music, and those overlooked artist's out there. Not to file share. So you can ask Andyman187. I'm sure he'll hook you up. Peace.
thats a fat ass come up. congrats on that one. thanks for ripping them for us to listen to, by the way. +192>128
Planet. Thanks!
No probem. Enjoy
you're the man, planet.
Hey Planet can you please send me a link to the instrumentals for Del?
