De La Soul's Impossible Mission LP

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Word on the street was that this new De La Soul album/mixtape was going to be a Japanese vinyl exclusive but I found a bunch at a local record shop where I live. So much for the rumors huh? Anyway, you may remember the bootleg EP I posted recently which featured some key cuts off this mixtape. Here we see an official double vinyl release containing those six songs previously released on that bootleg plus 14 other impressive cuts. There's also a small number of unreleased material from recording sessions for "De La Soul Is Dead" and "Buhloon Mindstate" among others. Some highlights include "Voodoo Circus", "Friends", "What The F@ck #1", "Respect", "Go Out And get It", "Wasn't For You", "You Got It", a De La style remake of Diamond D's classic, "Freestyle, Yo Dat's that Shit" called "Freestyle (Dat Shit) 2006" & what sounds like some DJ Premier produced shit called, "Freedom Train" is also dope. Listen closely at the end of that track and De La gives a shout out to 9th wonder-he producer who's actually behind the beat on "Freedom Train". Definitely worth picking up!

Freedom train is produced by 9th wonder. A dope track recorded for the "grind date"...

Yeah I just figured that out recently after I caught De La's shout out to 9th at the end of that track. Sounds a lot like Premier though wouldn't you say?
