The Record Shop EP

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting These past few weeks have been dead, dead, dead, for quality new releases so I find myself looking through my collection for records I haven't covered yet. This record is actually a recent reissue of a 1997 Funky DL release on Washington Classics that I picked up a few months back. The first time I ever heard Funky DL's music was off this record. Bobbito happened to come by our college radio station one night to chill and play records during Beni B's show and played a couple selections from this EP. I was instantly impressed by what I'd heard and tried effortlessly to find a copy since that show. Unfortunately this record proved to be one of the more difficult ones to track down and I never had much luck finding an original copy aside from the occasional ebay sightings here and there. A classic!

Question for you Planet...I know that you are a fan of PUTS. Which albums and/or 12" are raer from them??

Also, I have one or two Funky DL 12"....do you happen to know their discog??

Their stuff isn't that Rare to tell you the truth. The first album doesn't come around too often an dtheir very first 12" on OM off that LP is hard to get. The only think really rare from them is probably the joint on Boot Leg recording. That "Rhymin With The Bonz" 12" with the "Back On The Block". That one is the rarest record from them. Then you have that 7" that was given to customers free with purchase from Hiphopsite. The 7" has a red and yellow label. The name of the label and title of the song escpae me at the moment but that one is also a tuff one. Other than that, the OM stuff is pretty common.

As for Funky DL...I know his catalogue pretty well. Why?

Well, I thought I had some Funky DL stuff but almost all my vinyl is stored away for the time being so checking isn't that easy. Just wondering that's all.
